Calender Trials

An important area of application for moisturizing and spray systems is the calendering process. Even here, we help you to reach an evaluated decision by providing you with the following test units required for installing calenders:

• VIB AirTech Spray
• VIB GlossTech
• VIB SmoothTech

Our specialists will be pleased to help you every step of the way, and remain on hand to install test units on request.

You may also wish to exploit our comprehensive resources. We can calender your product at the Metso Paper research center in Järvenpäa (Finland) and can provide testing with the use of VIB AirTech, VIB GlossTech and VIB SmoothTech, drawing upon a full repertoire of advanced technological facilities and procedures.

Two calenders are available in the Järvenpäa center. And, thanks to the very latest VIB technology, two different systems are also available, each equipped with all the necessary variables you need to ensure excellence in the moisturizing and/or steaming of conveyors.

Start-up of the new VIB Research System

VIB has started a new VIB AirTechPlus 6 research spray system for special trials at the CTC (Coating Technology Center) in Finland. The system has integrated control to run top and bottom moisture with a spray system or SteamTech steamshower. The system is now available for customer trials.

Pilot Calender:
Type: 2-stack multinip calender with different running modes (for example 5+5, 3+5 or 3+3 rolls), one- and two-nip soft calenders and matte nip calender can be simulated. Unwinder width: 55 cm, max. speed 2500 m/min., linear load max. 550 kN/, maximum surface temperature of the thermo rolls is 200°C (oil and induction heating). Especially for SC grades: 4 VIB SteamTech steamshowers, 3 VIB AirTech moisturizer units.
