The company "DOX Maschinen" was founded in 1919 by Mr. Wilhelm Dossmann, and was established in Frankfurt, Germany, to produce various brushes for numerous commercial applications. Following a relocation of the company from Frankfurt to Neu-Isenburg, Germany, in the early fifties, the product portfolio was expanded to include special-use brush systems. A key brush application was special brushes and brush rolls for the paper industry. This application was developed after the paper industry leaders approached the company to work on the problem of paper web remoisturizing. A very successful development program resulted in the DOX system becoming the industry standard for remoisturization. The paper and converting industry acquired approximately 2000 brush roll dampers from the "Dossmann" product family. In the sixties, DOX moved to Dreieich-Sprendlingen, Germany, enlarging the production facilities and increasing the product family for the paper industry. These products included brush finishing systems to improve surface properties of coated paper and coated board. DOX has delivered systems worldwide for process working widths of up to 8100 mm. Additional products include web cleaning units as well as special electrostatic remoistening systems for the printing industry. |
In 1989, "DOX" products and technology were combined with VIB Systems GmbH. DOX is now a special products and application division of VIB Systems GmbH, Maintal. Machines for the Paper Industry
